Ready to experience Switzerland like never before? Then let’s go on an adventure together. Delve into Swiss history and tradition, explore beautiful natural surroundings and create
lasting memories – what more could you want from a family getaway?

Immerse yourself in the fascinating world of Swiss history, showcased through 100 historic rural buildings from across Switzerland. The interiors are a veritable treasure trove of pre-1950s objects. From antique tools to ornate artefacts, these provide intriguing insights into ways of life in bygone times. Each building tells its own story and invites you to become part of it.

Venture into the open-air museum’s historic workshops, where new life is breathed into old crafts and traditions on the brink of being forgotten. We invite you to explore over 30 different traditional crafts. Watch our expert craftspeople at work and witness their skill as they divulge the secrets behind their craftsmanship. Experience the working methods of previous generations and discover the value of these traditional trades.

Experience the thrill of the great outdoors together. A family hike through the diverse cultural landscape of our open-air museum will not only deepen your understanding of farming’s agricultural and cultural significance – it also promises heaps of fun. With every step you take on the 10 km discovery trails, you’ll get closer to uncovering the rich cultural heritage of the landscapes. People have shown an interest in the climate, soil and flora and fauna for centuries – and this is more relevant than ever now.

Over 200 farm animals bring the open-air museum to life with their jovial mooing, grunting and clucking, making for a truly authentic experience. Observe the animals at close quarters in their specially designed stables and enclosures, and discover their unique personalities and habits. Interacting with the animals so directly fosters a deep connection with them and an understanding of their needs and role in the farming industry.

Hands-on interaction, play and fun are all encouraged at our museum. Our large woodland and adventure playgrounds featuring a petting enclosure are sure to keep little adventurers entertained. The “All ears” themed trail transports adults and children alike to a world full of fairy tales and legends. You’ll find lots of hands-on stations where you can get involved and try out old tools. And if you’re ready for a nice break, our fireplaces and picnic areas are the perfect places to come together and enjoy some delicious food.

Secure your family ticket for just CHF 72.00. The family ticket is valid for parents/grandparents with their children/grandchildren up to the age of 16. We recommend buying your ticket online before your visit to ensure your family adventure gets off to the best possible start.
